A very old, hand embroidered, kashmiri silk sari, in tatters, was revived, it had had not been discarded for its intricate craftsmanship.
The images of foliage embroidered by some anonymous craftsman became the starting point to produce the work. To restore the surface, a translucent khadi fabric was used as the backing to provide strength. The small perforations revealing the age of the dying fabric, were darned. The old, fragile fabric became a site to revive the body/skin of craft.
